For those runners that have registered but DO NOT feel comfortable attending this event, we will be allowing folks run the Bucks County Turkey Trot VIRTUALLY and still get your swag!😊.
This means that for those of you that choose to run the event virtually (on your own time and a location that you chose), you will be able to come pick up your SWAG (t-shirt & 4” finisher’s medal) on Wednesday, November 25th from 2:30-4:30 at Sailor’s Point at Peace Valley Park. You will NOT have to get out of your vehicle, you will simply drive in and tell a Scoogie Events CREW member your name (or names of any friends you are picking up for) and a CREW member will bring your SWAG bag to you. (wearing a mask of course).
If you are unable to (or don’t feel comfortable with) coming to this pick-up option, you will also be able to pick up your SWAG bags at our next live event’s packet pick-up or on the actual race day. Should that date also not work for you, you can pick it up at the second live event we have. Note: swag bags will not be mailed.

It's up to EVERYONE to take responsibility today at PPU & especially tomorrow at the event to help create a safe & happy setting for EVERYONE.

We have so many COVID protocols set into place that we never want to hear the word COVID again.
But, we know what we have to do to keep EVERYONE SAFE and we are laser focused on doing JUST THAT.
But, we NEED YOUR HELP!
We need EVERYONE to work hard and think things through while you're at the event. We have MANY protocols set into place that we need everyone to adhere to but
THESE TWO PROTOCOLS ARE CRUCIAL:
1. PLEASE ALWAYS practice social distancing while not with your immediate family members.
2. PLEASE ALWAYS WEAR YOUR MASK
(over your nose please😷).
The only exception with regards to wearing your mask will be once you have crossed over the starting mat!
(You may remove your mask once you've started you're run if you feel more comfortable doing so).
But PLEASE keep your mask with you on your run and put it on right after you cross the finish line (before getting to the water and finisher's medals please)

💥#2: REGARDING YOUR SAFETY AND HAVING THIS EVENT SHOULD THINGS GET WORSE💥
WE WILL NOT HAVE THIS EVENT IF WE DON'T FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFE EVENT FOR EVERY SINGLE PERSON INVOLVED IN THE EVENT!
If circumstances change for the worse in the next few days, we will change the event to virtual.

💥#3: REGARDING HOW YOU FEEL PHYSICALLY & EMOTIONALLY ON RACE MORNING💥
If you do not feel comfortable attending this event OR YOU HAVE A TEMPERATURE the morning of the event OR if you have had known exposure to someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, PLEASE DO NOT COME.

💥#4: REGARDING WEARING A MASK💥
Absolutely everyone at the event will be required to wear a mask at all times EXCEPT WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING.
If you don't feel comfortable wearing a mask, please do not come.
We do not enjoy wearing masks either...(especially when it's hot)
But, during these unprecedented times, we need to deal with it.
ALL runners will be able to take their masks off right before starting their run.
YOU MUST CARRY YOUR MASK WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES ON THE RUN (WEAR SOMETHING WITH POCKETS)

💥#5 REGARDING TEMPERATURE CHECK💥
EVERYONE will need to have their temperature taken BEFORE they step foot onto the event grounds. (Temperatures will be taken by top of the line non-contact, one second Infrared thermometers).
If you do not feel comfortable with this, please do not come.
Note: Taking one's temperature DOES NOT necessarily indicate a positive or negative.
It simply is just one of the many steps that we are taking to eliminate any possible unsafe situation.
But please understand that IF your temperature is too high when we check it, we will allow you to rest in your car where it's cooler and try it again.
But, if it remains high upon your second check, you will not be allowed on the event grounds.
If you see this as a possible problem, please do not come.

WE NEED EVERYONE to consciously pay attention to SOCIAL DISTANCING from the second you step foot onto the venue until the time you leave.
THIS VERY IMPORTANT SOCIAL DISTANCING DETAIL IS WHAT WILL MAKE THIS EVENT A SAFE EVENT FOR EVERYONE.
The 45 Scoogie Events CREW members and 25+ volunteers will be very busy at their specific detail making sure that they do their job to keep you SAFE.

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in North Wales.
We close down the US 202 Parkway for over 2000 runners!
But this year we had to get creative…
and that’s exactly what WE DID!

(Both the WILD & MILD 5k’s start & end at the same location!)

1. For safety reasons and park & state guidelines, we are limiting each 5k to ONLY 100 RUNNERS! This means that once 100 runners has been reached, the event will CLOSE and we simply cannot accept any new registrations.
2. Should COVID gets worse over the weeks/months and we deem it to be unsafe to have this event, we will make the event a VIRTUAL event. There will be no refunds. Your swag (medal & t-shirt) will be held able to be picked -up a yet to be determined SWAG pick up.

The start will begin at 7:45 or 9:45 with runners starting in 5 second intervals. Start when you are ready😊

~Packet Pick-up (Wed. Nov. 25th) will be “drive-up style”. You will not need to get out of your car! You will receive an email the Saturday before the event with details regarding packet pick as well as race day details. In the meantime, here are the GPS coordinates: VIEW IN GOOGLE MAPS
~Each 5k is limited to ONLY 100 runners! (only runners can come on race day, no spectators please)
~We will practice strict social distancing during the entire event.
~Everyone entering the venue will be required to get their temperature checked (non-contact, one second infrared thermometer)
~Masks MUST be worn at all times (except while running)
~There will be no water stations for either the Wild or Mild 5k run courses. Please plan accordingly.
~Hand sanitizing stations will be situated throughout the race venue.

In the event that we experience bad weather such as snow or ice or any weather that would cause the course to be unsafe, we will cancel the event.
There will be no refunds due to the fact that at this point all of the expenses for a race of this magnitude have been paid for.

It’s important to understand that IF we need to cancel this event due to extreme weather, we will not issue any refunds and we will not reschedule the event this year.
